Vancouver Building on Cambie
Paint West Side trim (windows, door frames). Activities undertaken by Pro Works Vancouver
Surface Preparation: The paint on the trim was chalking everywhere, scrubbed with a tsp mixture to remove some of the powder then rinsed with wet rags and hoses. A few days to dry. Scrapers to remove the loose flaking paint, 60 grit sandpaper with blocks to sand down the scraped surfaces. The paint was oil based so all surfaces to be painted needed a general scuff sand.
Wood filler to help fix some structural damage, putty to reglaze the windows and caulking to seal in seams.
Painting: Primed all the areas with Zinnser oil based primer. 2 coats of the Sherwin William Emerald Urethane in semi-gloss finish on all surfaces.
Noteable: Existing oil based paint was chalking and needed to be prepped prior to painting.
